Quick questions and their answers.
READ ME NOW
Q: What is NO -3?
A: It means you have requested a message which is not completely uploaded.
Q: What is NO -4, -5, etc.
A: I'll document these when I return. At the moment -4, etc are incorrectly
formatted directory requests.
Q: Does \D mean after my call in the PB: message mean that I am transmitting
message number D?
A: No. It means you are requesting a directory. File numbers are in lower
case.
Q: What is the real file type 12?
A: The real file type 12 is miscelaneous binary. AL files are currently marked
with 12, but this will change as soon as possible. A complete review of file
types used by spacecraft log files is underway. The file 12 conflict will be
removed and each log will be given its own file type. There will also be an
addition of new user file types.,
Q: What compression type should I use for Lharced files?
A: Please use compression type 3. This is "official".
Q: What are all the strange files on UO-22?
A: Stuff. They are mainly experimental log files. They will be documented when
the experimenters have time to document them, if they are percieved to be of
general interest. Some engineering logs change format so quickly and contain
information of such complexity that they may never be documented.
Q: MY pfhdir.pfh is getting "too big" and taking "too long" to read in. What
do I do.
A: Rename it and wait for the next version of PB.
Q: Can I delete/edit/rename PFHDIR.HOL?
A: No. This will cause your entire directory to be updated.
Q: Why aren't you in the U.S.A.?
A: By Sunday night I will be. Have fun. Happy Holidays. We have really
achieved a lot over the past year. You - the user group - are really breaking
new ground in inexpensive global telecommunications. Thanks for being patient,
reading documentation, using the most up to date software, not complaining,
keeping your transmitter power low, not using the "R" key, and listening to
the downlink to see if we were reloading the satellite before turing your
amplifier up. Happy New Year, too.
73, JWW
P.S. And thanks for not hanging one another. It's only a hobby, after all!
